Description

16/2 Safety Duplex Cable - 500'

Features red and yellow Marine Grade primary conductors in a white common jacket.

ANCOR recommends yellow wire as DC negative because black is the standard color for AC hot. There have been many cases of people working on their DC systems who have inadvertently cut the live AC wire. Because of the wide spread use of inverters, power generators and shore power connections, even todays smallest boats pose a risk of inadvertently cutting into AC wires when working on DC systems.

ANCOR Duplex Cables are made to surpass the highest UL Boat Cable standards with ultra flexible (Type 3/Class K) stranding to resist fatigue due to
vibration and flexing

Features:

  • Outer jacket is made for easy removal and provides the best abrasion resistance available

  • ANCOR's proprietary premium vinyl insulation stays flexible even in extreme cold and resists salt water, batteryacid, oil, gasoline and ultra-violet radiation. Exclusive insulation is rated at 600V, 105 C dry and 75 Cwet, and is resistant to heat and abrasion

  • Inner conductors are correctly color-coded to ABYC standards

WarningWARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (dehp) which is known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to P65Warnings.ca.gov.

The Ancor 16/2 Safety Duplex Marine Cable offers a reliable 500-foot length designed for marine electrical systems. Featuring red and yellow primary conductors within a durable white jacket, this cable ensures proper identification and safety during installation and maintenance. The yellow wire is recommended as the DC negative conductor, aligning with safety practices to prevent accidental cutting of live AC wires, especially important in boats equipped with inverters, power generators, and shore power connections. Crafted to exceed UL boat cable standards, the cable incorporates ultra-flexible (Type 3/Class K) stranded conductors that resist fatigue from vibration and flexing, making it ideal for the dynamic environment of marine applications.

The outer jacket is engineered for easy removal and provides excellent abrasion resistance to withstand harsh marine conditions. The proprietary vinyl insulation remains flexible even in extreme cold temperatures and is resistant to salt water, battery acid, oil, gasoline, and ultraviolet radiation. Rated at 600V and capable of withstanding temperatures up to 105°C dry and 75°C wet, this insulation ensures safety and durability under demanding conditions. The inner conductors are correctly color-coded to ABYC standards, simplifying installation and reducing wiring errors. Suitable for both new installations and maintenance on boats, this cable provides a dependable connection for DC power systems while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
