GDT 43 Depth Temperature Transducer

This thru-hull transducer can read water depth and water temperature. It can retrofit an existing Nexus and Silva 43 mm thru-hull transducer (TH43). When bundled with the NMEA 2000 adapter, the GDT 43 can connect directly to the NMEA 2000 network, and the information can be displayed on a compatible Garmin chartplotter or instrument display. This transducer has a 0-20 degree deadrise.

Garmin GST 43 Thru-Hull Speed/Temperature Transducer

The GST 43 is a thru-hull transducer that can read water speed and temperature. The transducer can retrofit an existing Nexus 43mm thru-hull transducer (TH43).

Bundled with the GST 10, the GST 43 can connect directly to the NMEA 2000 network, and the information can be displayed on a compatible Garmin chartplotter or instrument display.

In The Box:

  • 2 GMI 40 marine instruments (two if that version is selected)
  • gWind Wireless 2 wind sensor
  • GDT 43 mm thru-hull depth and temperature transducer
  • GST 43 mm thru-hull speed and temperature transducer
  • For the NMEA 2000 network: 2 m backbone/drop cable (3x), 5 T-connectors, power cable, and terminators
  • Mounting hardware
  • Documentation

The Garmin GMI 40 Wired Sail Pack combines two GMI 40 marine instruments with a gWind Wireless 2 wind sensor, GDT 43 depth and temperature transducer, and GST 43 speed and temperature transducer. Designed for integrated marine data monitoring, the system displays real-time wind, speed, depth, heading, engine, fuel, and other information from compatible devices.

Each GMI 40 features a high-resolution 4.3-inch WVGA IPS LCD touchscreen with an intuitive interface, edge-to-edge glass, customizable gauge sets, and flexible page layouts. The instruments integrate with NMEA 2000 and Garmin BlueNet networks, support software updates through the ActiveCaptain smartphone app, and can wirelessly share data with a compatible Garmin marine smartwatch.

The gWind Wireless 2 sensor uses a three-bladed propeller and twin-fin design for accurate wind speed and stable wind angle readings, including in lighter wind conditions. Its solar panel charges the internal rechargeable battery, while wireless connectivity helps simplify installation by eliminating the need to run wires through masts up to 50 feet. The GDT 43 reads water depth and temperature, and the GST 43 reads water speed and temperature. Both transducers can retrofit compatible existing 43 mm thru-hull transducers.

The pack includes components for an NMEA 2000 network, including backbone and drop cables, T-connectors, a power cable, and terminators, along with mounting hardware and documentation. The GMI 40 instruments are designed for flush mounting and feature an IPX7 water rating, while the gWind Wireless 2 is rated IPX6.
