Description
BI-0702-4 Battery Isolator - 70A - 1 Alternator, 2 Battery
The Arco Marine BI-0702-4 is an inboard/outboard battery isolator that can handle 1 alternator, 2 batteries, and 70A max. Rated for use with 10 to 350-amp alternators on 12, 24, or 32-volt negative ground systems.
*Includes regulator sensing terminal
Features:
- 1 alternator, 2 batteries, 70A max
- Inboard and outboard battery isolators are solid-state devices that allow electrical current to flow in one direction ONLY, thus permitting the alternator to be connected directly to two batteries without fear of one higher-charged battery discharging into the lower-charged battery.
- Both batteries are always being charged automatically, in proportion, to their needs whenever the engine is running.
- When battery isolators are used in conjunction with selector switches, it is not necessary to change the switch position to provide for charging of both batteries.
- Isolators provide proportioning of the output or charging current on the alternator to the batteries as required, regardless of switch position.
NOTE: Battery Isolators cannot be used on 12 volt charging systems with 24 volt trolling motors or newer outboard engines with rectifier-regulator charging systems.

Please contact the manufacturer directly with any issues or concerns. The ARCO Marine BI-0702-4 Battery Isolator is a high-performance solid-state device designed for marine and inboard/outboard applications. It handles up to 70 amps and supports systems with one alternator and two batteries, making it ideal for maintaining reliable power distribution in various vessel setups. Compatible with 12, 24, or 32-volt negative ground systems, this isolator ensures efficient charging and electrical isolation between batteries, preventing one from discharging into the other. Its regulator sensing terminal allows for precise voltage regulation, improving overall system stability and performance. This product is engineered to automatically charge both batteries proportionally whenever the engine runs, without the need to manually switch or adjust settings, simplifying battery management for boat operators. The inboard and outboard battery isolators use solid-state technology to allow current flow in only one direction, ensuring that the alternator can charge both batteries safely without risking backflow or discharge issues. When used with selector switches, it eliminates the need to change switch positions to ensure both batteries are charged, providing seamless operation and enhanced convenience. The isolator also offers proportioned current output, adapting to the specific needs of each battery independently, which optimizes charging efficiency and prolongs battery life. It’s important to note that this isolator is not suitable for use with 12-volt systems that incorporate 24-volt trolling motors or modern outboard engines with rectifier-regulator charging systems. Designed for durability and reliable performance, the ARCO Marine BI-0702-4 is an essential component for marine electrical systems requiring safe, automatic battery management with minimal maintenance.
