**As the FCC requires all units sold in the US to be programmed by a qualified technician. Please submit the form below for programming at time of purchase. A copy of the MMSI Registration or FCC Ship Station License is required along with the vessel master or owner's signature on the completed programming form. **
AIT2500 Class B+ 5W SOTDMA AIS with GPS
Digital Yacht have a range of Class B+ AIS transponders. Class B+, a standard, utilizes SOTDMA format transmissions which offer a 5W power output (2.5x more powerful than a regular Class B), a guaranteed time slot for transmission in busy traffic areas and faster update rates depending upon the speed of the vessel. Its ideal for ocean sailors requiring the best possible performance and future proof satellite tracking applications, fast power boats and smaller non-mandated commercial vessels. It still inter-operates with existing Class B and Class A systems.
The AIT2500 is a full function SOTDMA AIS transponder with NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 and USB data outputs. It is supplied with a GPS antenna and requires connection to a VHF antenna or suitableVHF-AIS antenna splitter.
The AIT2500 has the option of anAIS SART alarmwhich is great for use with personal AIS MOB devices.
Specifications:
- Class B+ 5W transponder with GPS/GLONASS positioning
- Multiple NMEA 0183 in/out and multiplex capability
- NMEA 2000 connectivity
- USB connectivity for PC/MAC
- Remote TX silence switch option
- Supplied with GPS antenna
- Options include VHF-AIS antenna splitter, wireless interface (WLN10SM) and AIS SART Alarm (AIS Lifeguard)
Note On SOTDMA Technology
Class B+ is a generation of AIS functionality based on SOTDMA (self organised TMDA) messaging rather than the simpler CSTDMA (carrier sense TDMA). It guarantees your AIS transmission will get a time slot, even in areas of very high traffic density. It also specifies a 5W transmission power (compared with 2W for Class B) and a transmission rate that increases as the vessel moves faster. With regular Class B protocol, the transmission rate is fixed at every 30 seconds when the vessel is moving. It is ideal for ocean sailors requiring the best possible performance and future proof satellite tracking applications, fast power boats and smaller non-mandated commercial vessels.
The Digital Yacht AIT2500 Class B+ 5W SOTDMA AIS with GPS is a high-performance marine transponder designed for ocean sailors, fast powerboats, and smaller commercial vessels that require reliable and future-proof vessel tracking. Built with SOTDMA technology, this transponder guarantees transmission in high-traffic areas by providing a dedicated time slot, ensuring consistent updates even in congested shipping lanes. Its 5W transmission power offers 2.5 times the output of standard Class B devices, resulting in improved range and signal clarity.
The AIT2500 is a full-featured AIS transponder compatible with NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, and USB interfaces, allowing seamless integration with existing onboard navigation systems. It comes with a GPS antenna for precise positioning, and it requires connection to a VHF antenna or an appropriate VHF-AIS splitter to operate optimally. The device also offers optional features such as an AIS SART alarm, which enhances safety by alerting when MOB (Man Overboard) devices are activated, making it ideal for safety-conscious mariners.
Designed to meet the demands of high-traffic maritime environments, the AIT2500's SOTDMA technology ensures that your vessel's position updates are consistently transmitted with minimal delay, regardless of traffic density. Its versatile connectivity options and optional accessories like wireless interfaces and VHF-AIS splitters make it adaptable to various vessel configurations. The device complies with FCC requirements for installation by qualified technicians, and users can submit required documentation for programming at the time of purchase, ensuring proper registration and operation.
Whether used for routine navigation, collision avoidance, or satellite tracking, the Digital Yacht AIT2500 offers a reliable and future-proof solution for maritime safety and tracking. Its comprehensive feature set and robust construction make it suitable for demanding marine environments, providing peace of mind and enhanced situational awareness for vessel operators.
