Description
F35B-8007 Impeller Pump - Pedestal Style
Flexible impeller pumps, F-series, provide an efficient solution to most raw water pumping needs. The primary advantage of a flexible impeller pump is its self-priming ability. As the vanes of the impeller are depressed and rebound, they create their own vacuum drawing fluid into the pump. A dry pump can lift the water up to as much as 3 meters. Thus a flexible impeller pump being used for engine cooling needs not to be located below the water line or manually primed. An added feature of flexible impeller pumps is that they can pass fairly large solids without clogging or damaging the pump. This reduces the need for filtering the incoming fluid. For general raw or freshwater applications, the standard long-lasting neoprene rubber impeller is used. Both the impeller and the seals depend upon the water for lubrication and will soon burn out if run dry.
Features:
- A general feature of all flexible impeller pumps is that they cannot be permitted to run dry for more than 30 seconds
- Wearing parts are easily replaceable for all standard models
Applications:
- Engine cooling raw water handling
- Freshwater handling
Specifications:
- Port size: (inch) 3/8" NPTF
- Mount Type: Pedestal
- CAM: Full 1/1
- Lip seal
- Material (Pump Body): Bronze
- Material (Shaft): Stainless steel
Cooling Capacity:
The required output of the cooling pump raw water as well as fresh water handling is related to:
- Engine type: (gasoline or diesel)
- Type of cooling system (size of heat exchanger)
- Water cooled engine oil, reverse gear, exhaust system
*Sold as an Individual
The Johnson Pump F35B-8007 Impeller Pump is a versatile, pedestal-mounted solution designed for raw water handling and engine cooling systems. Its flexible impeller design provides efficient, self-priming operation, allowing it to lift water up to approximately 10 feet without manual priming, making it ideal for marine, industrial, and engine cooling applications. The pump's ability to pass large solids reduces the need for additional filtering, thus decreasing maintenance and operational issues. Constructed with a bronze pump body and stainless steel shaft, the F35B-8007 offers durability and corrosion resistance in demanding environments. The pump features a 3/8-inch NPTF port size, a full 1:1 cam, and a lip seal, ensuring a secure and reliable connection. Designed for continuous operation, it is essential to avoid running the pump dry for more than 30 seconds to prevent damage to the impeller and seals. The wearing parts are easily replaceable, simplifying maintenance and extending the pump's service life. This model is well-suited for applications including engine cooling, raw water handling, and freshwater transfer, accommodating different engine types and cooling system sizes. Its compact dimensions make it suitable for installation in tight spaces on boats, vehicles, or industrial setups.
