Description
12 Circuit Bypass Module NMEA 2K without Fuse Pack Jumper Wire
For manual control of the loads, an optional MPower 12-Channel Bypass Module (CBMD12) can be installed in conjunction with the 12-Channel DC Load Controller Module (CLMD12). The maximum current capacity for the CBMD12 is 75 amps in 12V DC and 24V DC power systems.
The Bypass Module provides a manual method (ON/OFF switch) to control loads by providing power to each load in case of a CLMD12 malfunction or a NMEA 2000 network failure. The CBMD12 utilizes standard fuses for overcurrent protection and 12 Carling Curvette Rocker Switches for manual control of each load. With the use of the Curvette rocker switches, there is no arcing that occurs while manually overriding a load. Furthermore, unlike other digital switching products, MPower does not require moving a fuse, which can cause electrical connections to degrade or the possibility of ignition.
Its important to ensure that the current rating of the fuse for each load is appropriate to protect the load and the wiring for that load. Please note that the bypass module does not support paralleled outputs, since each circuit is controlled by a separate switch. Additionally, the bypass module does not support dimming of circuits.

The Maretron CBMD12 12-Circuit Bypass Module is designed for reliable manual load control in NMEA 2000 networks, providing an essential safety feature for marine power systems. Capable of handling up to 75 amps across all circuits, this module ensures robust protection and control for your electrical loads. It integrates seamlessly with 12V and 24V DC systems, making it suitable for a wide range of marine applications. The CBMD12 features 12 independent outputs, each protected by standard ATC fuses, and is equipped with Carling Curvette Rocker Switches that enable manual ON/OFF operation without arcing, ensuring safe and reliable switching. This design reduces wear and tear on the switches and eliminates the risks associated with fuse replacement or digital switching degradation. The module is ideal for scenarios where manual override is necessary during network failures or system malfunctions, offering peace of mind and operational flexibility.
The CBMD12's construction emphasizes safety and ease of use. The use of standard fuses for overcurrent protection helps prevent damage to wiring and loads while simplifying maintenance. Its compact design allows for easy integration into existing systems without taking up excessive space. The module does not support circuit dimming or parallel outputs, emphasizing its role as a straightforward manual bypass solution. When installing, it’s important to ensure that fuse ratings are appropriate for each load to maximize protection and system longevity. Designed to complement the 12-Channel DC Load Controller Module (CLMD12), this bypass module provides a reliable manual control option for marine electrical systems, especially in critical situations where network communication may fail.
Manufactured by Maretron, the CBMD12 is built to high standards, ensuring durability and consistent performance.
