Jabsco flexible impellers can be fitted to most makes and models of bronze flexible impeller engine cooling, bilge, transfer and general purpose pumps.
Jabsco flexible impellers are subjected to rigorous quality processes to ensure reliable, efficient and long lasting performance.

Replace all impellers at least once every year, or sooner, depending on the engine duty. When the installation is correct an impeller may last for several years, but it is always advisable to stick to a schedule of preventative, rather than corrective, maintenance.

Replacing impellers is easy. By removing the end cover screws, it is possible to remove the impeller by using either a Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool, or channel lock pliers, to grip the hub of the impeller. Dont use screwdrivers as they may damage the face of the pump body, causing leaks, and they can be dangerous in confined spaces.

Always carry spare impellers on board in case of emergency. The impeller is one of the most vital components of the engine cooling system and should always be treated as such.

Always grease new impellers. Firstly, it makes it easier to install the impeller into the pump bore, and secondly it gives added protection to the impeller during initial prime. After replacing the gasket and end cover the pump is ready to use.

The Jabsco Impeller Kit, part number 18948-0001-P, is designed for reliable performance in engine cooling, bilge, transfer, and general purpose pumps. Crafted with durable neoprene, this impeller features 12 blades that efficiently move fluids to keep your engine operating smoothly. The key drive type ensures a secure fit, while the brass insert enhances durability and stability during operation. This impeller's diameter measures approximately 2-9/16 inches, making it suitable for a variety of pump models. Proper maintenance and timely replacement of the impeller are crucial for optimal engine performance and longevity.

Replacing the impeller is straightforward, requiring removal of end cover screws and the use of a Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool or channel lock pliers to grip and extract the hub. It’s recommended to carry spare impellers onboard for emergency replacements, especially in remote locations. Greasing the new impeller before installation facilitates easier fitting into the pump bore and provides initial protection during priming. Regular inspection and replacement, ideally annually or as dictated by engine use, help prevent overheating and pump failure. This product undergoes rigorous quality testing to ensure long-lasting and efficient operation.

Note that this impeller may be compatible with most bronze flexible impeller pumps. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for installation and maintenance to maximize performance. Keep in mind that handling and installation should be performed carefully, avoiding the use of screwdrivers that could damage the pump face. Proper maintenance of your Jabsco impeller kit ensures your engine cooling system remains in optimal condition, preventing costly repairs and downtime. Always store spare impellers onboard and replace them as part of your preventative maintenance schedule to ensure reliable operation when needed.
